As you’re aware, due to Michigan’s Clean Slate Law, search access varies by county in Michigan. Public access is fully restored in most counties, with limitations in a few counties. Today we have 2 changes to report to you:
- Ingham County Circuit Court moved its public access from its own proprietary site to MI MiCOURT over the weekend. The Circuit Court has elected to limit the reporting of records to 7 years from now on. The District Court is still allowing full access to records more than 7 years old.
- Saginaw – Both courts have restricted public access to 7 years. The clerks are no longer assisting with search scopes greater than 7 years.

Poinsett, AR – New court fee of $5 per name (Harrisburg District Court)
This fee is for both criminal and civil searches.
As you know, court fee changes are out of our control. The court fee changes listed above are effective immediately.
Back in June, we sent a notice regarding a fee eScreen charges when a candidate is scheduled for a drug or occupational health screening but does not complete it before their ePassport expires. We wanted to follow up with an important update: effective March 1, 2026, the fee will increase from $2.50 to $2.59 per expired ePassport.
As a quick refresher on how this works:
The no-show fee is charged by eScreen when an applicant is scheduled for a screening but fails to complete it before their ePassport expires. ePassports are typically valid for two weeks from the time a clinic is selected, unless the client has requested a shorter or extended timeframe.
The fee will appear on an invoice as a Search Fee, similar to a county court fee or a driving history fee.
You are permitted to pass this fee along to your clients. If you choose to do so, you may want to update your client-facing documentation or screening instructions accordingly.
To help your clients avoid this fee entirely:
– Remind clients that a 48-hour reminder email is sent when a service has not been completed after ordering
– Advise clients to request an extension or cancellation by emailing support@drugscreenresults.com if they know the applicant won’t be able to complete the service before expiration
For context, fewer than 10% of eScreen orders across the system have this fee applied; it is not common. That said, we want to make sure you and your clients are informed, especially given the upcoming rate change.
